Child Safety
Safe Seats
Background
Every child deserves a safe start. Through the Safe Seats program, we’re ensuring that families don’t have to worry about the cost of a car seat and that every child can travel safely. In California, families are required to have a properly installed car seat to leave the hospital with newborn children. A well-intended policy, this requirement impacts families who do not know about this requirement or may not be able to afford car seats that meet safety standards.
Targeted Impact
Through a partnership between The Rachel and Eric Jones Foundation and several community organizations in Northern California, Safe Seats provides high-quality infant, convertible, and booster car seats to families in need across Lake, Napa, Solano, Sonoma, and Yolo counties.
“The impact Safe Seats is making on farmworker families is truly remarkable.”

“I knew the need for a safe car seat, with little to no barriers to obtaining one, would be well-received but the overwhelmingly positive feedback has far outpaced my expectations.”
